The Battle of Dunkirk
Battle of Britain was an important battle in Second world war. The battle occurred between the Allies and Germany. The battle was evacuation was the defense and evacuation if British and Allied forces in Europe from 26 May to 4th June 1940.

It was a defeat but out of this defeat came some good result.
Firstly it was a miracle that so many allied soldiers were evacuated back to England and secondly the Air Force achieved success at keeping the Luftwaffe at bay and the Channel open.
On June 25 1940 France surrendered.

The greatest escape
335000 men, French, British and Canadian, have been lifted out of the jaws of death and shame, to their native land and to the tasks that lay immediately ahead. We must be careful not to assign to this deliverance the attributes of victory. Wars are not won by evacuations.
But there was a victory, inside this deliverance, which should be noted. It was gained by the Air Force.
